What cost do we pay when we’re blinded by urgency to make that flight on time through hell or high water? What happens when we bow to the unending treadmill of corporate travel and put mandatory meetings ahead of our own safety?

“Flight 505” examines the frantic velocity of business travel and the absurdity of putting our job before our own safety. An impatient businessman, late for his flight, charges through the terminal to avoid missing his flight.

The airport’s architecture of corridors, gates, jetways, and tarmac become his disorienting race against time. Every barrier he encounters, long security lines and crowds that thicken at precisely the wrong moment, intends to slow him, to insist that rushing is fruitless.

Undeterred, he races and continues, finally reaching the gate only to find the jetway door already sealed. Yet he refuses to yield, blasts through it anyway, and hurtles toward the gap between jet bridge and plane. Far below, tarmac workers calmly gather his body, zip it into a bag, and return it to baggage claim, completing the journey he so desperately tried to force.

The final image of his body bag circling the carousel is the endpoint of a life measured only in minutes saved and flights caught. In the end the plane departs on schedule, the gate closes as it must, and the only destination the businessman reaches is the one he never intended to board.
