Good & Evil: The Devil You Know
Good & Evil: The Devil You Know
Description
The Devil You Know is 5th installment of the mainline ‘Good & Evil’ series. This series plays with the idea that we all have our own personal angels and devils lingering around and influencing our decisions. The aim is to add my own iconography to the mythos with these stories.
This piece’s title is a play on the proverb “better the devil you know than the devil you don't”. The proverb means that it’s better to deal with a difficult option that you’re used to or familiar with rather than an unknown one. This is represented by the protagonist wearing the devil costume as the angel frets and the devil cheers. The piece is also a satirical jab at people labeling you as a devil so much that you play into it as a sort of self fulfilling prophecy.
