DeeKay Zero 10

DeeKay at Zero 10 Art Basel Hong Kong 2026

For Zero 10 at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, AOTM is thrilled to present a solo presentation by DeeKay. This will be the gallery’s second time participating in Zero 10, following our presentation of Dmitri Cherniak at Art Basel Miami Beach last December.

Drawing from the visual vocabulary of early video games, DeeKay reduces psychological states into legible moving forms; through playful simplification, he insightfully accesses greater human truths. Our presentation will be centered around the public debut of his latest 1/1 digital artwork, R U Ok? (2025), an animation that visualizes personal self-reflection and the dichotomies inherent to human experience: external vs. internal, composure vs. vulnerability, light vs. dark, searching vs. weariness.

Complementing this central anchor artwork, DeeKay will also debut two new animated editions: I WANNA RUN! and I WANNA RUN… (2026). These animations expand upon the aesthetic and philosophical conversation introduced by R U Ok?, working toward a definition of modern humanity rooted in symbiosis and yin/yang. Here, oppositional forces push and pull, ebb and flow, working both against and with each other to comprise the greater, textured whole of human life. When we run towards safety, do we run away from ourselves?

DeeKay’s narrative of life’s journey, and our symbolic movement within it, will be presented on three large LED walls, inviting viewers to see themselves within and step into DeeKay’s vision. Rather than positioning light and dark as moral opposites, the installation presents human dichotomies as mutually sustaining, necessary forces within a single system.

About DeeKay

DeeKay (b. 1989, South Korea) is an artist whose digital animations combine clean, minimal forms with expressive motion. Drawing on visual language from retro video games, his narrative-driven artworks sweetly simplify humanity’s complexity. He briefly attended the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and then spent over a decade as a motion designer at companies including Google and Apple. He has been minting his artworks on blockchain since 2021. His work has been exhibited globally, at Sphere, Las Vegas (2025); Busan MoCA, South Korea (2024); and W1 Curates, London (2023), among others. His practice is guided by the principle that art should be universally accessible and resonant.
